The text is divided in two prapāṭhakas of eight kaṇikā each, and it contains a total of ca. 240 verses. It is the most important śikṣā as far as the connection between pitch modulations and musical notes is concerned. It is remarkable that a manuscript clearly produced in a Jain milieu contains a very technical treatise on pronunciation linked with Vedic recitation (see also manuscript Add.1924, which most probably has been written by the same scribe, since it shares many common features with this manuscript: script, paper and layout are identical, and on the paper envelope used as original binding this manuscript is numbered as 2) 2, while Add.1924 is numbered 2) 3).
"
