"value": " The Gautamīśikṣa<\/i> is a śikṣā<\/i> (\"Teaching [on Pronunciation]\") belonging to the Sāmavedic school of recitation and included in the branch of knowledge known as vedalakṣaṇa<\/i>. The text is divided in two prapāṭhaka<\/i>. It provides a list of all the possible consonant clusters found in the Vedic text. The largest cluster mentioned contains seven consonants. It is remarkable that a manuscript clearly produced in a Jain milieu contains a very technical treatise on pronunciation linked with Vedic recitation (see also manuscript Add.1923<\/a>, which most probably has been written by the same scribe, since it shares many common features with this manuscript: script, paper and layout are identical, and on the paper envelope used as original binding this manuscript is numbered as 2) 3, while Add.1923<\/a> is numbered 2) 2). <\/p>"
