<p style='text-align: justify;'>This palm-leaf manuscript, probably written towards the end of the 14th century, under the reign of Jayasthiti Malla (1382-1395), is the <i>codex unicus</i> of the <i>Abhinavarāghavānandanāṭaka</i>, a play on the Rāma story by Māṇikya (or Maṇika), a court intellectual and polymath who is also the author of the <i>Mānavanyāyaśāstraṭīkā</i>, a Newārī commentary-cum-translation on the <i>Nāradasmṛti</i> (see <a target='_blank' class='externalLink' href='http://cudl.lib.cam.ac.uk/view/MS-ADD-02137/1'>Add.2137</a>), as well as of a Newari commentary on the <i>Amarakoṣa</i>, preserved in its autograph: <a target='_blank' class='externalLink' href='http://cudl.lib.cam.ac.uk/view/MS-ADD-01698/1'>Add.1698</a> (see also Shastri 1905: x and 43-44). The <i>nāndī</i> and the <i>prastāvanā</i> offer interesting information on the performance of the play (the place of performance, Bhatgāon) and on the reigning dynasty. The manuscript ends abruptly in the middle of the fourth act.</p>
