This manuscript contains a famous commentary on the Yogasūtra of Patañjali, the Rājamārtaṇḍa. The commentary is attributed to king Bhoja, who reigned in the 11th century, in Dhārā, central India. On the recto of the first folio, the text is referred to as the Bhojavṛtti, but the most well known title is possibly Rājamārtaṇḍa. However, Rājamārtaṇḍa is also the title of a text on jyotiṣa as well as a text on āyurveda (see MS Add. 2480), both also attributed to king Bhoja. The manuscript is incomplete, and the paper sleeve wrapping the manuscript notes that the manuscript contains only the commentary from book one to the 49th sūtra of book 3 (in fact, the numbering of the sūtras in book 3 is erroneously advanced by one; the numbering jumps from 22 to 24, skipping 23, so that sūtra 49 in the manuscript should rather be numbered as 48; a second hand has corrected a few of these numerations in the margin). The Library holds another manuscript of this work (Add.897).
