Sanskrit Manuscripts : Upadeśasahasrī

Śaṅkara, Rāmatīrtha

Sanskrit Manuscripts

A paper manuscript of the Padayojanikā of Rāmatīrtha (early 17th c.), a commentary on Śaṅkara’s Upadeśasahasrī, also containing the mūla text. The manuscript includes only the first fourteen sections (prakaraṇa) and ends abruptly at the end of the commentary on verse 8 of section 14. There are significant variants at times between the manuscript and the Pândurang Jâwajî edition (1930); for instance, the second verse of the first prakaraṇa begins with idam in the manuscript, while the edition reads aham.
