<p style='text-align: justify;'> The <i>Śabdānuśāsana</i>, or <i>Siddhahaimacandra</i>, by the 12th century Jain polymath Hemacandra consists of 8 chapters (<i>adhyāya</i>) of four sections (<i>pāda</i>) each, dealing with Sanskrit grammar in the first seven chapters and with Prakrit grammar in the eighth chapter. He composed two commentaries on his work, a long version (<i>bṛhadvṛtti</i>) and a short version (<i>laghuvṛtti</i>). This 15th century manuscript contains chapter I-III.2 of the <i>Śabdānuśāsanalaghuvṛtti</i> dealing with the sandhi, noun, case and compounds (cf. Balbir 2006, vol. 3: p. 451). This manuscript was commissioned by Cāritradharma, a pupil of Lakṣmīsāgarasūri. From a later hand on <a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(44);return false;'>folio 22v</a> we learn that this manuscript was deposited in the library of Raṅgavijaya, disciple of Harṣavijayagaṇi. </p>
