Sanskrit Manuscripts : Gāruḍopaniṣaddīpikā

Sanskrit Manuscripts

A paper manuscript of the Gāruḍopaniṣaddīpikā, which deals with the prevention of snakebite: the recitation of this Upaniṣad was believed to prevent one from being bitten by a snake (Jacob 1891: 10). The text transmitted in the manuscript contains only the commentary by Nārāyaṇa on the northern recension of the text (see NCC, vol. 5, p. 327), not the verses of the Upaniṣad. The commentary has been edited in Jacob 1891.
