B. Du Chaillu’s accounts [<i>Explorations and adventures in equatorial Africa</i> (1861)] are all false.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>R. F. Burton has impudently stolen credit for Gustav Mann’s Cameroon expedition.</p>
