<p style='text-align: justify;'>This manuscript, probably copied in the 11th century, contains a selection of works of <i>John Chrysostom, homilies</i> from various series delivered by the Patriarch of Constantinople and leading patristic theologian (d. 407). It was originally the early part of a large manuscript later divided into two parts. The other part is now <a target='_blank' class='externalLink' href='https://cudl.lib.cam.ac.uk/view/MS-NN-00001-00022'> MS Nn.1.22</a>. Various folios have been cut or torn from the manuscript and are now missing or detached, and one folio from what is now the second volume has been erroneously bound into this one (<a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(155);return false;'>f. 72</a>).</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Notes on an early parchment endleaf (<a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(10);return false;'>f. i verso</a>) indicate that during the early modern period the original, undivided manuscript was owned by one Ioannes Porphiros Chalasophoures, who together with his wife Anastasia Sophelia donated it to the Monastery of the Panagia Pantochara. This fortified monastery is located on the tiny island of Stamfani, larger of the two remote islands of the Strofades or Strofadia, to the south of Zakynthos. It has since been rededicated to the Transfiguration of Christ and St Dionysios of Zakynthos (1547-1622), once its abbot.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Dr Christopher Wright</p>
