Cairo Genizah : Legal document; jottings

Cairo Genizah

Testimony to a court, written in an early square hand. It is dated twice; once according to Creation, 476[.] (it ends [...]ושש, so could conceivably be 4716), and afterwards עשרה למנין שטרות [...]. Therefore, it dates from around 1000 CE. The document concerns a certain Samuel and Solomon and refers to a cousin, but little of the text remains. Verso contains a list of names, all written in the same hand. It includes Elijah ha-Kohen and Šemarya b. Šabbetay ha-Parnas. Hebrew jottings have been added in a different hand and ink.
