<p style='text-align: justify;'>Begging letter to David Maimonides from Joseph ‘the poor stranger’ reporting that he was forced to sell his upper garment to be able to pay the second installment of the poll-tax of the Muslim year (6)50 (beginning March 1252 CE), and for the first installment of the following year they had to pawn the cloak of his wife. </p>
