Cairo Genizah : Letter

Cairo Genizah

Letter from a Jewish Palestinian refugee, sent to his relatives in Fusṭāṭ, at the beginning of the 12th century. He writes that he had succeeded in ransoming his brother, mother, and little sister (his father was already deceased) from the Crusaders. He now wants to resume trading relationships with his Fusṭāṭ relatives and is keen to emphasise that stability has returned to the region.
