<p style='text-align: justify;'>Letter from the army doctor Abū Zikrī to his father Elijah b. Zechariah, written shortly before 1227 CE. He writes from Alexandria to convince his father to take the post of judge in Alexandria. He promises his father that he will procure a pension for him from the Ayyubid sultan al-Malik al-Kamil (r. 1218-1238) and reports on the downfall of the Muslim governor and the Jewish Nasi of Alexandria and suggests that his father could get a position in that town if he so wanted.</p>
