Cavendish Laboratory : Helium purification apparatus

Cavendish Laboratory

Part of the old liquefier room in the Mond Laboratory. The large vessels are gas holders for helium returned as it boils off from individual experiments in different rooms of the Mond Laboratory along the built-in return lines. This helium was then purified of unwanted air and compressed into the high pressure storage cylinders shown.
