Sanskrit Manuscripts : Cāṇakyasārasaṅgraha

Cāṇakya

Sanskrit Manuscripts

A 19th century Nepalese paper manuscript of the Cāṇakyasārasaṅgraha with a Newari commentary (a paraphrase?). The collection of maxims in this manuscript consists of three śatakas. According to Sternbach (1963: CLXVII), "[t]he Cāṇakyasārasaṅgraha version is the least known version throughout India. Unlike other compendia of Cāṇakya's aphorisms it is confined mostly to one part of India, namely the North-East and to Nepāl." This manuscript was used by Sternbach in his edition (see Sternbach 1963: CLXXII-CLXXIII).
