Sanskrit Manuscripts : Ṛgvedasarvānukramaṇikāvivaraṇa

Jagannātha

Sanskrit Manuscripts

The Ṛgvedasarvānukramaṇikāvivaraṇa by Jagannātha is a list of the various features (number of meters, attribution of meters to different deities, etc.) of the Vedic collection. It is "[a]lso called Anukramaṇikā-vivaraṇa or Sūkta-pratīka of Jagannātha. Although most catalogues enter and describe this as a commentary on the Ṛgveda-sarvānukramaṇī of Kātyāyana, probaby misled by the word vivaraṇa in the title, Haraprasada Sastri notes in his earlier Notices (L.) as well as in his later RASB catalogues that this is really a different text and an Anukramaṇī for the Bāṣkala-śākhā. Some of its Mss. are entered under different titles. Cf. also next entry Ṛgveda-sarvānukrama-prayoga." (Parameswara Aithal 1991: 233) The text contained in this manuscript is still unpublished. The manuscript consts of two codicological units, as the last leaf is a later supply.
