An important śikṣā ("Teaching [on Pronunciation]") belonging to the Vājasaneyī school of the Yajurveda and traditionally attributed to Yājñavalkya. It is included in the field of knowledge known as vedalakṣaṇa. It shares numerous verses with other similar texts such as the Pāṇinīya and the Nāradīyaśikṣās, as well as Uvaṭa's commentary on the Vājasaneyi-pratiśākhya. The text is known in various recensions. Regarding this manuscript, LVP notes: "Recension shorter than the printed edition (Benares Sk. Ser)".
