Sanskrit Manuscripts : Jayamaṅgalā

Yaśodhara, Yaśodhara

Sanskrit Manuscripts

The Jayamaṅgalā of Yaśodhara (possibly, fl. 13th century), the most important commentary on the famous Kāmasūtra of Vātsyāyana Mallanāga. The manuscript contains an almost complete text of the commentary, but not the mūla text. Despite being nicely written, the text is quite corrupt and has frequent lacunae, indicated by dashes above the line. The bundle also includes one folio of another copy of the same text (see Add.2251.2), probably by the same hand, and a one-leaf fragment of Kālidāsa's Kumārasambhava in Nepalākṣara script (see Add.2251.3).
