Bateson Archive

This series reflects Bateson's involvement in a number of British scientific institutions, principally the Royal Society, and also the origins and early years of the International Union of Biological Sciences, the Presidency of which he declined in 1924. Royal Society material, 1896-1922, chiefly relates to its Evolution Committee and includes significant correspondence of Bateson with Sir Francis Galton and W.F.R. Weldon, 1896-1900.
