This work, "compiled by Viṣṇu Puri, an ascetic who belonged to Tirhut and probably lived in the second half of the 14th or the beginning of the 15th century, is a collection of representative and often beautiful stanzas found in the Bhāgavata-Purāṇa" (Gonda 1977: 18).</p>
