<p style='text-align: justify;'>Sub titled 'Detailing some futile endeavours to make great discoveries in Thessaly'. Preceded by a note on local dialect, Excavation diary for Halos, from 23 April to 4 May, with sketch plans with levels, tables of levels measurements. Notes on a surface pottery field survey around Zerelia and Tsangli, including notes on inscriptions, to the end of May. Followed, at the back, by notes on modern Greek vocabulary and observations of contemporary Greek daily life. Includes wage tallies and record of expenses at the back. 6 inserts : scraps of paper with text in modern Greek, 1 receipt for grocery supplies including olives, figs, raisins, bread and cheese. 2 leaves of jottings in pencil by AJBW, practising how to vocalise the Greek letter gamma and playing with Greek syntax and grammar, in relation to dialect. 2 leaves of a Demotic Greek song about the month of May, written by Fr. Pavlos Oikonomou 1 leaf of a verse written in Fr. Pavlos's hand about a priest's wife working on a loom.</p>
