<p style='text-align: justify;'>The notebook consists of Middleton's notes on classical architecture and topography in Athens during the Spring of 1892. In particular his focus is upon the monuments on the acropolis of Athens: north wall, Stoa of Eumenes, Pnyx, Monument of Thrasyllus, Old Temple, Clepsydra, Theatre of dionysius, Theatre of Herodes, Acropolis east end, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Mousion Hill, south wall of Acropolis, Erechtheum, section of Acropolis W to E, Prolylaea, west front of Parthenon steps and east front, Dipylon (Gate), Porch to Agora. JHM created his own index to the notebook contents on a separate leaf of paper, placed between the front cover and flyleaf.</p>
