<p style='text-align: justify;'>1952 Excavation Notebook for Prehistoric Cemetery East, primarily graves 27, 29, 30, 31, 32, compiled by George Huxley, who took over the area from Alan Hunter. Daily account of excavation, written in block capitals in pencil, with sketch plans and section drawings, interspersed with long-form summaries of progress to date in ink. Logs a sequential record of baskets and corresponding small finds numbers, recording which small finds were moved to the Apotheke (store room). At close of excavation, Huxley visited Olympia and recorded Greek inscriptions on ff. 23-25.<br />3 inserts: 1 paper foreign exchange receipt in Greek dated 15/07/1952 for George Huxley for £30<br />1 leaf featuring verses of 2 Greek demotic songs from the early 1950s<br />1 leaf with a poem/song in dialect Greek with elements of katharevousa Greek (from 1830s-1840s), song lyrics for '45 Lemon Trees' (1947) and a doodle drawing of 'Billy's Big Bugle', a stirrup jar inscribed in Linear B discovered by Lord William Taylour (MYC01: ]e-ra, ka-ta-ro).</p>
