JDH thinks Lyell blunders and is out of his depth.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Charmed with E. B. Tylor’s book on man [<i>Early history of mankind</i> (1865)],</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>disappointed in Lubbock’s [<i>Prehistoric times</i> (1865)].</p>
