<p style='text-align: justify;'>Orchids.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Lyell has written to JDH about coal-plants of Melville Island.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Has glanced at first edition of <i>Principles</i> and has no doubt that Lyell meant the whole globe was cooler when land was massed at poles. JDH doubts this.</p>
