<p style='text-align: justify;'>From 1669-1701, Newton held the Lucasian Chair of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. Under the regulations of the Chair, he was required to deposit copies of his lectures in the Unversity Library. His notes <i>De motu corporum</i> were deposited in the late 1680s in fair copy produced by his secretary Humphrey Newton. The notes include draft versions of sections of Book I of the <i>Principia</i>. A full description of this MS is given by Mr Edelston in Newton's <i>Correspondence</i> with Cotes (London 1850), p. xcv. The verso, which is generally blank, is used for occasional notes and additions.</p>
