<p style='text-align: justify;'>From 1669-1701, Newton held the Lucasian Chair of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. Under the regulations of the Chair, he was required to deposit copies of his lectures in the Unversity Library. This MS is described by Mr Edelston, <i>Correspondence of Newton and Cotes</i> (London 1850), p. xcii.</p>
