The ms. is tightly bound in a plain black leather cover, and is of modest size, very well preserved; paper thick and good, highly polished. The calligraphy is in a small very neat nasta'liq, rather modern looking. The ms. contains 10 paintings, all in a different variety of formats and styles. (Ch.M.)The height of the text block varies a little, between e.g. 138 mm (f. 17r) and 136 mm (f. 190r).The text contains part I only, up to the death of Kay Khusrau, and ends without a colophon. However, there is a colophon at the end of the prose introduction (f 10r), giving the date of completion in 1066/1656 and the name of the scribe. The prose preface starts f. 1v under a decorative unvan. The poem itself starts on f. 11v, under another decorative unvan, with a normative incipit.
