<p style='text-align: justify;'>This manuscript was written entirely by <i>Thomas Stanley</i> (1625-1678), and contains his notes, collations and conjectures relating to various authors and texts, all brought together under the title <i>Adversaria</i>. Stanley was an English author and translator, and in all likelihood he is also the copyist of <a target='_blank' class='externalLink' href='https://cudl.lib.cam.ac.uk/view/MS-KK-00006-00027/1'>CUL MS Kk.6.27</a> (Sophocles, Ajax), among the Greek manuscripts at Cambridge University Library.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>The verso side of each leaf was intended to receive the notes or variant readings to the relevant texts on the facing rectos, but few of them actually contain notes: see, for example, ff. <a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(102);return false;'>50v</a>, <a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(110);return false;'>54v</a>, <a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(122);return false;'>60v</a>, <a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(192);return false;'>95v</a>, <a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(270);return false;'>134v</a>, <a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(366);return false;'>182v</a> and <a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(602);return false;'>300v</a>. From <a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(335);return false;'>f. 167r</a> to <a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(342);return false;'>f. 170v</a> the text runs on both rectos and versos.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Folios <a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(653);return false;'>326r-420v</a> are all blank leaves: ff. 329r-417v were not photographed during the manuscript's digitisation and consequently are not displayed on the Digital Library.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Dr Matteo Di Franco</p>
