Rare Books and Manuscripts : Songs of Innocence and of Experience

William Blake (1757-1827)

Rare Books and Manuscripts

This copy of William Blake’s Songs of Innocence and of Experience combines the Songs of Innocence with the Songs of Experience each with their own separate title page (dated 1789 and 1794 respectively), and a combined title page for the two (undated). This copy was hand coloured by Blake and is believed to have been his personal copy. The place of publication is not recorded in the volume, but Blake lived in London during its printing.
