Lewis-Gibson : Grammar

Lewis-Gibson

An extract from a Karaite grammatical treatise dealing with various verbal forms. The recto contains the end of a discussion of the verb whose proposed imperatival base is נפלאה, and the opening of a new section dealing with the verbs with imperatival bases: אחרה, יחמה, תחרה, תחנה, which continues onto the verso. The verso concludes with the opening of a new section, dealing with the verbs of imperatival base תארה and קסמה. The biblical citations are vocalised (with isolated Tiberian cantillation marks), as are the hypothetical verbal paradigms. Ca. 10th-12th century.
