Lewis-Gibson : Liturgy; piyyuṭ

Lewis-Gibson

Recto: part of an Aramaic alphabetic acrostic piyyuṭ for Purim. Incipit: ושליט המן. At the bottom of the recto, and onto the verso, the havdala blessings are written in a semi-cursive hand. The text of the blessings is much abbreviated, usually giving only the first letter of each word. This is followed, half way down the verso, by part of the prayer before sleep המלאך הגואל אותי. The final third of the verso contains abbreviated forms of biblical verses containing the word שלום: Numbers 25:12; Leviticus 26:6; 1 Chronicles 12:14; Isaiah 27:5; Psalm 85:9-11.
