The body of the letter opens: انى ابقاك الله بعت طعام .. من مكارم اهل الفسطاط 'I sold foodstuffs ... to the nobility of Fustat and closed an outstanding account' (لاغلاق ما بقى). Refers to 'large ships loaded with seven-hundred <i>irdabbs</i> of goods and four more ships' (مراكب كبار محملة سبع ماية اردب واكثر اربعة مراكب).<a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(2);return false;'>Verso:</a> Traces of the address of the letter on the recto. </p>
