The text opens after the basmala with the statement قبضت سبعة وثمانين 'I have received 87 dīnārs'. This is followed by a series of entries indicating expenditure. Each entry opens with ... خرج فى 'There has been expended on ...'. In these entries the amounts are expressed in Greek numerals. There are several checking marks in the form of crosses. Verso: Account containing a list of personal names and various amounts expressed in Greek numerals. This is headed, after basmala, by the phrase: اسما الاجرى واسما ابايهم 'The names of the tenants and the names of their fathers'. The account apparently relates to agricultural taxation.
