<p style='text-align: justify;'><a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(1);return false;'>Recto:</a> Statement of accounts, detailing various credits and debits. The text opens, after the basmala, with the word الاصل 'the base', i.e. the original sum. Amounts are expressed in Greek numerals. <a href='' onclick='store.loadPage(2);return false;'>Verso:</a> Text opens after basmala with the blessing formula: اطال الله بقاك وادام عزك و كرامتك واتم نعمه عليك. The body of the text states that a certain Yaḥyā has paid five dīnārs of full weight, divided into portions (مثاقيل مقسمة). </p>

  • Layout: Writing on both sides. Recto, written in black ink, 14 lines, at right angles to the fibres. Verso, written in black ink, 4 lines, at right angles to the fibres.
  • Acquisition: Bought from Michaelides in 1977.
