Cairo Genizah

Business letter from Aden to ʿAyḏāb, in the handwriting of Joseph b. Abraham b. Bundār. Among other commodities, it refers to receipt of a silk fūṭa (פוטה חריר). Joseph talks about the losses that Isaac al-Nafūsī sustained, including the wreck of a ship at sea (ותלף אלמרכב פי אלבחר) with a cargo worth 1700 'royal dinars' (דינר מלכיה). He refers too to the arrival in Aden of Hiba b. al-Dabbāḡ (‘the tanner’).
