<p style='text-align: justify;'>These loose items were found scattered through Needham's travel journals. They include bills and receipts, a copy of the Lord's prayer in Chinese [20-21], 6 typed poems by Rewi Alley (26-31), a letter from Joseph Needham to Dr. Sun Yu-chi of the Kansu Petroleium Administration about help with the repair of Needham's truck dated 8 Oct. 1943 (40), a letter from the explorer Eric Teichman dated 16 Aug. 1943 (25), and other miscellaneous notes and jottings.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Transcription for the items will be available soon.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Further information and resources are available about Needham's time in China from 1943-1946 as Director of the Sino-British Science Cooperation Office <a target='_blank' class='externalLink' href='http://www.nri.cam.ac.uk/JN_wartime.htm'>here</a>.</p>
