<p style='text-align: justify;'>This letter belongs to a collection of letters from Joseph Needham to Dorothy Needham while he was a member of the International Commission on Bacteriological Warfare in China and Korea in 1952. Written from the Peking Hotel, it describes meetings and visits, preparation for articles in Nature, preparations for the report, purchasing books with the entomologist Chu Hung-Fu [Zhu Hongfu 朱弘复], the purchase of a seal made of rock crystal (see NRI2/5/15/3/6). There are two signed copies; one was sent to Lu Gwei-Djen to reach Dorothy Needham at the Biochemical Congress.</p>
