<p style='text-align: justify;'>This letter belongs to a collection of letters from Joseph Needham to Dorothy Needham while he was a member of the International Commission on Bacteriological Warfare in China and Korea in 1952. Written from the Peking Hotel, it describes the arrival of the Britain China Friendship Association cultural delegation (including Bill Pirie, Miles Malleson, Ben Farrington, George Thomson, E.A. Thompson and Sebastian Sprott). Other matters include a visit to the Peking Agricultural College, the various visits of the delegates, the British representative Harold Lamb and books purchased for Cambridge University Library.</p>
