Cairo Genizah : Liturgy

Cairo Genizah

ʿAmida for weekday services, which probably represents a form of the Palestinian liturgy that has been adjusted to Babylonian norms. It preserves the full version of the prayer against heretics (benediction 12): 'As for the apostates let there be no hope, and as for the impious kingdom, speedily eradicate, pulverise and humble it in our days. May the Christians, heretics, slanderers and betrayers perish in a moment...'. Probably 13th century. See S. Reif, 'Jewish Prayer Texts from the Cairo Genizah' (2016: 59-68).
