Letter in the hand of Ḥalfon b. Manasseh, ca. 1135. A woman, the daughter of Hilāl ‘Šayḵ al-Yahūd’, originally from Ashkelon, petitions Yaḥyā ha-Sar. She asks for financial support for herself and her children, because she used to be supported by her two brothers in Ashkelon (one named Saʿd, serving as ‘ḵādim al-yahūd’), but the two brothers are facing difficulties of their own and have cut her off. Gil identifies the addressee as Ḥiyya b. Yiṣḥaq b. Samuel ha-Sefaradi, and dates the letter to ca. 1135 CE.
