Sandbach Tinne : From McInroy Parker and Co., Glasgow, to Sandbach Tinne and Co., Liverpool, 1815-11-16

McInroy Parker and Co.

Sandbach Tinne

Summarises a letter from Demerara to Mr Parker listing crops harvested at L'Amitie and Woodlands. Quotes from same letter about the sale of 125 enslaved people included in the estate of the late Mr Heathcote, and the sale of the late Mr Samm's estate. It is unfortunate that Peter McLagan's letter has not arrived; the writer does not know what to advise about machinery. Captain Alexander will tell ST how the fish was selling; it would be well to find out what state it was in at shipping. Is glad that the Clyde arrived. How did Hopkinson get his insurance done lower than ST's? ST has not ships to carry out half the heavy goods ordered. As the Demerary has been so long detained, will it not be possible to get Benny Mill in the Caledonia by keeping it back a week? It would be desirable to 'keep that fellow in good humour', which keeping back the ship could hardly fail to do.
