<p style='text-align: justify;'><p>See the detailed description of this ms. and its illustrations by S.A. Sharifzadeh, Namvarnama, Tehran, 1370/1991, pp. 52-54; also in Baqir Najafi, Shahnama-ha, pp. 507-8 and plates 321-325. Najafi does not indicate either the topic or the folio number of the four illustrations; he also refers to the use of gold in decorated pages 257, 595 and 755. There is no text on the painted pages and the titles of the miniatures remains to be investigated. The manuscript is paginated (not foliated), with c. 950 pages.</p><p>The text written in nasta'liq in the Safavid period (the colophon gives no indication of the date or name of calligrapher), but was rewritten in defective parts by the Qajar calligraphers, 'Ali Asghar Hamadani and Hajji 'Ali Akbar Shirazi.</p><p>The date Tabriz, 935/1528-29 associated with this copy is not substantiated. Baqir Najafi considers the original illustrations ms. to be in the Herat style.</p></p>
