Trinity Hall : Yūsuf va Zulaykhā

Jāmī, 1414-1492جامی

Trinity Hall

This manuscript tells the story of Yusuf and Zulaikha as interpreted by the poet Jami (1414-1492). The author primarily drew inspiration from the twelfth chapter of the Qur'ān Sūrah Yūsuf. It was originally in the library of Ali Murad Talpur (died 1894), known as the Aadil-i-Jang, the second ruler of the Mankani Talpurs of Mirpur Khas (Sindh). Subsequently, it was acquired by book collector Lawrence Strangman (1907-1980), an alumnus of Trinity Hall, and given to the College in his memory in the late 1980s by his niece Geraldine Essayan.
