Incomplete court record in the hand of Halfon b. Manasseh, concerning the heirs of a murdered woman, Sitt al-Husn bat Isaac. She had been killed by her husband (ʿUmmār the banker?), along with her mother (Sitt al-Bayt bat Mevoraḵ) in what is called ‘the famous murder case’. The order of the deaths was significant, as the second woman to die would have inherited the estate of the first woman to die, and the second-degree heirs of each woman subsequently laid claim to both estates. T-S NS 31.9 is a duplicate copy of this document, and reveals that the relatives of the murdered women (Abū Yaʿqūb Isaac the cantor b. Ḡalib known as Abū Manṣūr, and Abū Saʿīd Ḥalfon the cantor b. Ḡalib known as Abū Manṣūr) reached an agreement to divide the inheritance equally.
