Letter written during difficult times to Abū l-Ḥasan Surūr b. Ḥayyim b. Sabrī from his worried son-in-law Mubārak b. Isaac. He mentions pillaging in Maḥalla (the writer hopes that Abū l-Ḵayr Mubārak is safe), an epidemic in Fusṭāṭ and that the writer himself had been robbed. Also mentions Ibn Naḥum the cantor. Probably written in the 1060s.
