Letter from a worried Manṣūr b. Sālim to the Rayyis Abū l-Faraj b. [...] al-Iskandarānī in Fusṭāṭ (his stepbrother). It is apparently not the first letter sent in the search for his son who had run away to join the army. The address on verso directs the letter to Abū l-Faraj, in the shop of Abū l-(Ḥa)san in the Perfumer’s Market. The Arabic address reads ‘to be given to ... Abū l-Faraj Ibn al-Rayyis al-Yahūdī’ (i.e. Elijah the judge). Also mentions the elder Abū l-Ḥajjāj.
