Deed, concerning the dissolution of a business partnership between ʿAmmār b. Joseph the dyer, and Samuel ha-Kohen b. Moses b. Ṣemaḥ, both of whom, being from the city of Malīj, Egypt, have taken advantage of their presence in Fusṭāṭ for the high holidays to draw up this deed in the court of Elḥanan b. Šemarya (who signs at the end as ‘Elḥanan, Roš ha-Seder’). ʿAmmār states that he makes no claim on any of the debts owed to Samuel from the following inhabitants of Malīj: ʿAmīd, Faraj, Ḵalaf, [Y]aʿqūb, Faraj b. Salim, Iṣḥaq b. Dimašqiyya. Dated Friday, 9th Tišri (the eve of the Day of Atonement) 1328 (= 1016 CE), in Fusṭāṭ. Witnessed by Jacob b. Joseph of the Bet Din, who probably wrote the deed, and also by Solomon b. Fašāṭ, Saʿadya b. Anas, Sar Šalom ha-Levi b. Nissim, ʿEli b. Naʿīm, Joseph b. Israel, Abraham b. Job, and Moses b. ʿAllūn.
