<p style='text-align: justify;'>Preface to a legal document, stating that Ḵalaf b. Nathan b. Šabbat asked for a copy of this legal record, concerning his dealings with Ḥassāna b. Ḥasan al-Simsār over silk bales, which burnt in her house. Yefet b. Abraham acts as guarantor for the sum that Ḥassāna will pay to Ḵalaf. Dated 1402 of the Seleucid Era (= 1091 CE) and signed by Yešuʿa b. Samuel. An addendum below is witnessed by Yešuʿa b. Samuel, Joseph ha-Levi b. Yefet, Solomon ha-Kohen ‘son of the Gaʾon, descendant of Solomon Gaʾon’, Samuel b. Yešuʿa, Obadiah ha-Kohen b. Isaac and Solomon ha-Kohen. </p>
