<p style='text-align: justify;'>Recto: part of a letter, c. 1020 CE, from Josiah, ‘Head of the Yešiva of the Pride of Jacob’ (i.e. Josiah b. Aaron), to the elders of the Jerusalemites in Fusṭāṭ, thanking the Jerusalemite community in Fusṭāṭ for deposing an opponent, who is criticised and accused of being sympathetic towards Karaism. Written by a scribe from the Yešiva of the Pride of Jacob; with allusions to Ezekiel 23:4, Micah 5:4, Zechariah 2:3, Micah 4:6, Daniel 7:25 and Leviticus 24:10, and with quotes from Proverbs 8:13, Psalms 139:21, Proverbs 14:16, 24, 19:3, Psalms 85:12 and Numbers 11:4.
